Alright, here we go, week five of Front9Back9’s Golf Picks & Predictions. Last week I sucked, so now it’s time to redeem myself. My promise to you: At least one week this year, I am going to pick the winner with my golf picks. And this is the week.
Phil Mickelson– Great start to the PGA Tour season at Torrey Pines. Phil played great. It wasn’t enough to overtake Bubba Watson, but I think Phil can redeem himself at TPC Scottsdale. Yes, Phil Mickelson is the easy pick, but I need to get get back on track in Fans of Devil Ball fantasy golf. Just in case Phil is not feeling well this week, I got Dustin Johnson as the backup.
Hunter Mahan– Hunter is my first “B” player for the week. Another simple pick, but Hunter is poised to pick up a victory soon. He hit it great last week and finished tied for 6th place in the Farmers Insurance Open last week. My backup for Mahan, Sean O’Hair.
Rickie Fowler– Last year, Fowler made a nice run last year in this tournament but came up short. I think Rickie is stuck with that monkey on his shoulder right now trying to get his first victory after all the hype, but it seems as though he cannot finish completely late in the tournament. He shot two over par rounds on the weekend at Torrey last week. Just in case Rickie falters again, I have Camilio Villegas backing him up.
Anthony Kim– It looked so good for Anthony Thursday and Friday at Torrey, but Saturday and Sunday he shot two ho-hum rounds. This pick was thought about thoroughly and I really wanted David Duval as my pick, but in the end, I am going to have to take Anthony Kim and have David Duval as my backup.
What do you think? Who do you pick? Let me know below.

Good picks! Mickelson looked good last weekend and Mahan won it last year. Hopefully Bubba Watson keeps up the good play and competes this week too.

I would really like to see David Duval win this year. I think he is on the verge of his first win in a long time. Thanks for the comment.
