I recently received a yardage book holder from Ace of Clubs Golf Company and over the last couple weeks I’ve had several chances to test it out. At first, I was curious on what I would do with my yardage book holder because the golf course that I play at normally has GPS on the carts and I thought I’d never use it.
Boy was I wrong. I have several yardage books already in my collection from over the years playing
in several competitive tournaments around town. Luckily, I still had the one from LaCantera Resort Course so I decided to take it with me to play my last time out. After using it during my round, I can honestly say I don’t know if I can ever go without it.
I used my Augusta Green Alligator yardage book holder for two rounds, keeping everything from my own personal score to my stats for each hole. I am a big stats guy, so I am always tracking fairways hit, greens in regulation, number of putts and my scrambling percentage. I use to just keep all these on an extra scorecard in my back pocket.
Using this yardage book holder from Ace of Clubs Golf Company kept my yardages, scoring and stats all in an organized fashion thanks to the high quality elastic strap and pencil holder. It also includes a scorecard pocket you can easily access after each hole, making it simple to write down your playing partners score along with yours.
Final Thoughts on the Ace of Clubs Yardage Book Holder
Pros:
- High quality construction.
- Genuine leather with embossed exotic leather looks.
- Fits perfectly in shorts back pocket.
- Great selection colors.
Cons:
- Might not use all the time in non-competitive situations.
- How durable is it with heat, sweat and being sat on?
After using my yardage book holder in two different rounds, my worries about the durabliity is quickly fading. In 85+ degree weather in San Antonio I sweat quite a bit during my round. With the yardage book being in my back pocket it took quite a beating with sweat and being sat on in the cart and it’s still in perfect form.
As mentioned above, I used this yardage book holder in two non-competive rounds, at a golf course
that has GPS in the carts. I am going to continue using it to keep my stats and own scorecard. Where this will come in the most use is when I play in two competitive amateur tournaments later this year. I always have a yardage book with me during these rounds and will surely have to keep my playing partners scores.
I am highly impressed with the quality of my yardage book holder from Ace of Clubs Golf Company. The company is based in Seattle, WA and also makes several other leather golf accessories including putter grips, putter head covers, wood head covers, belt straps and belt buckles.
The yardage book I received from Ace of Clubs will set you back $39.99, which is a great deal compared to several other leather golf accessory companies who make similar products. You can order directly from their website at aceofclubsgolfco.com.
