Chip-In’s & Chunks is a recap of the good and bad from this past week in the world of golf. Do you haveFacebook or Twitter @Front9Back9.
Chip-In’s (the good)
Bubba Watson Wins Northern Trust Open
Bubba Watson picked up his first win since the 2012 Masters. He really needed this win after collapsing on the Back 9 of the Waste Management Phoenix Open two weeks ago.
Karrie Webb Wins Women’s Australian Open for Fifth Time
Karrie Webb fired a final round 68 to win her fifth Women’s Australian Open. The reason why I included this besides the fact she dominates this course, I just like to see headlines from Australia since I am 1/4 Australian. Once day I will get to that continent to visit! Anyways, congrats Karrie!
Chunks (the bad)
Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson
These two top players have decided to skip the WGC Accenture Match Play this week at Dove Mountain. Why you ask? Well they need rest or something. Frankly, I think these two suck at Match Play and haven’t fared well in this format in the past.
The infamous Eisenhower Tree has been chain-sawed. Yes, the tree that sits on the 17th hole at Augusta National and was named after President Dwight D. Eisenhower has been chopped. The ice storm in Georgia last week ruined the tree. Poor tree.
