While I was watching Sports Center coverage earlier about today’s Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, they showed a fly over of the race track and were talking about how large the actual facility is. They also mentioned there is golf course right next to the track, Brickyard Crossing, and four holes of this course actually go inside the racetrack.
It looks like a pretty nice course and I regret not getting to play it five years ago when I was in Indianapolis visiting my good buddy. I remember doing research on local courses before I went up there, and Brickyard Crossing was on my list to try to play. Unfortunately I never got to play any golf while up there and don’t know if I will ever go back to Indianapolis again.
Besides the cool feature of the getting to play four holes inside one of the most famous sporting facilities in the world, the course is ranked pretty well. It has been rated a Top 100 course by both Golf Digest and Golf Week. Pete Dye designed the course and you can play it for under $100. Sounds like a must play to me!!
Has anyone ever had a chance to play the course?
