It was just about five months ago that Tiger Woods smashed a fire hydrant and slammed his Escalade into a tree. Then came the 15 or 100 or how-ever-many women he allegedly had affairs with. Then came the sex rehab stent. Then the bogus press conference. Then the real press conference. All this leading up to his return to competitive golf at the Masters two weeks ago. Now the last few days have been filled with commitments to the U.S Open, Quail Hollow, The Players, and his own former tournament at the AT&T National. (Although Tiger does not have hosting duties anymore this tournament still benefits his foundation)
Now this. Tiger Woods was out at a Nickelback concert in Orlando last night. Yes, according to none other than TMZ, Tiger was spotted back stage surrounded by heavy security while one of his favorite bands were playing out on stage. I don’t normally read TMZ, and I usually only visit there when another sports site picks up on stories then I may check out what they have to say. But leave it to them to report something like this.
I really don’t think there is anything wrong with Tiger going out to the concert. It appears Tiger’s marriage is unfortunately over. Hell, can you blame Elin? I don’t know what it means that he is committing to all these tournament weeks and months in advance. Is he giving the tournaments a heads up to get security in place? Is he trying to be more press and fan friendly and give people a chance to make arrangements to come out and play? Are these just the same tournaments he plays every year and has just posted his schedule on his website like he does every year? Or could it maybe mean his marriage is actually over and he has come to realize it’s time to move on?
I think it could quite possibly be the latter. If his marriage is actually over, and he and Elin have tried everything, then maybe he has realized he needs to start the process of moving on. Now you can ask, Is it really that hard to move on after he already was acting the way he was? And the answer is yeah, it is still tough to move on. The kids are a major part of the decision and depending on where Elin goes, Tiger may be far far away from them. So I don’t see a problem with going to this concert. There is nothing wrong with it as long as Tiger behaves himself and doesn’t hook up with any skanks while he is still married.
BTW.. I will take Tiger Woods to win at Quail Hollow next week!
