Typically during my Picks & Predictions post each week, I pick four players in which I think have a great chance to win. To be honest, most of my choices are just a random pick. I do actually look over the field for the week and use a few stats here and there and I do take in to account how hot the player has been playing recently. But mostly, I might-as-well just put all the names in a hat and draw from there. I would probably have a better chance at picking the winner like that. Either way, this week I am picking one player: Tiger Woods.
Tiger Woods will win his annual tournament and overtake #1 in the world rankings, which he can only do with a win. Tiger has had a busy two weeks. He joined Twitter, joined Mike and Mike on ESPN Radio and wrote an article for Newsweek. He is a “changed” person he claims. To be honest, I could care-a-less about his “changed” self. I want to see him win. That would be a huge boost for his confidence and get him on track for a great 2011.
Alright, I won’t cop out like that. My picks for the Chevron World Challenge go a little like this:
Rory McIlroy– Rory would like nothing better to show Tiger up in his own tournament. Maybe Rory and Tiger will play in the final group on Sunday. Or maybe, Rory will just run away with it.
Hunter Mahan- A fellow Sean Foley product, Mahan should play well this week. He hasn’t played much since the Ryder Cup, so he has had plenty of time to get over that chip. I am rooting for Hunter.
Camilo Villegas- You haven’t heard much from Camilo after his early 2010 success, but I think he can play well this week, especially with a world class international field in place.
Tiger Woods- Well, #1 is up for grabs, and he needs a confidence shot in the ass. Like I said above, Tiger will win this week.
What do you think?
