Sure my title is pretty cheesy today but WTH right? It’s hard to believe the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x have been around for ten years now. It hasn’t seemed that long. I have been using the Pro V1x for at least five years, maybe longer. I feel it really is the best ball. I have tried out numerous balls throughout the years and I just don’t seem to get the same performance from another ball. I can find balls they may seem to be longer off the tee, but I cannot find anything comparable to the feel around the greens, and that’s why I really stick with the Pro V1x.
An article on Golf.com really had some interesting facts today about the Pro V1 and Pro V1x.
- Nearly 2 out of every 3 PGA Tour pros play the Pro V1 or Pro V1x. That is nearly five times the nearest competitor.
- Pro V1 and Pro V1x have accounted for 275 wins on the PGA Tour.
I received an email from Team Titleist earlier this week with rumors a 5th generation golf ball showed up in a blank white box in the lockers players at the McGladery Classic this week. I can’t wait until these new balls show up in stores. I don’t know how much really will change but I am sure Titleist changed something so small and will claim it will make such a difference.
