Over the last hour I have been seeing numerous reports popping up about a one-on-one interview on ESPN tonight with Tiger Woods. I saw it on Sports by Brooks in the RSS feed at the top which was first reported on Twitter by Sports Business Journal‘s John Ourand.
It is now quickly making it’s rounds. The LA Times has it on their website saying “a person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press that ESPN will air a one-on-one interview with Tiger Woods on Sunday night. The interview with Tom Rinaldi is scheduled to be shown after 7 p.m.Eastern.” Golf.com is reporting the same thing as well but as of 4:25 CST ESPN still is reporting nothing on their website.
The interview is reported to already been taped and the details have been kept under tight wraps. But would you expect anything else from Tiger Woods? The interesting part I think is the timing. It is clearly after the NCAA tournament coverage and after the Transitions Championship coverage is wrapped up. This is probably to avoid the “Tiger trying to steal the spotlight” that was alleged when he did his first apology.
