I am going with sort-of a Texas flare this week with my golf picks. Why? Well because I'm from Texas and live here in San Antonio where the Valero Texas Open is teeing off tomorrow. My PGA Tour Fantasy Game standings are pretty abysmal so far this year. I have a total of 3,824 points with the leader sitting at 7,131. Ouch! That puts me in 2,811th place overall which sucks. This week I am turning the tables though. As I mentioned above my picks are all Texas proud and if my four players … [Read more...]
Front9Back9’s Golf Picks & Predictions: Valero Texas Open
The PGA Tour moves to my hometown this week and the TPC San Antonio will be the home of the Valero Texas Open. We have five players who finished in the top 10 at The Masters and another two that finished in the top 20. For my picks this week I am going to play off the momentum of Augusta. Geoff Ogilvy- Finished in a T-4 at The Masters and has been playing pretty good leading up to last week. I am backing up Ogilvy with Charley Hoffman. Bo Van Pelt and Angel Cabrera- This is Cabrera's … [Read more...]
Front9Back9’s Golf Picks & Predictions: Shell Houston Open
The Shell Houston Open starts off the Spring session of Yahoo Fantasy Golf, and I plan on winning it. I finished in 70th place in Fans of Devil Ball for the winter session. My picks are going to be better this time around, and I will lead from start to finish. Some players use this week at the Shell Houston Open as a tune-up for The Masters next week, while some actually play to win. Phil Mickelson is one of the guys who is really not interested in playing to win, he is just more worried … [Read more...]
Golf Picks & Predictions: Children’s Miracle Network Classic
The Children's Miracle Network Classic tees it up on Thursday in the final official event of the 2010 PGA Tour season. There are eight 2010 winners in the field this week and 11 major winners in the field. For a tournament in the middle of November, the field is pretty good. My picks for the Children's Miracle Network Classic go a little like this: Rickie Fowler- Yes, I am going to pick Fowler again. A win would only cap off a great rookie season where he has basically already locked up … [Read more...]
Ryan Palmer Wins Sony Open
Sitting here watching the end of the Sony Open and Ryan Palmer has just won for his third time on the PGA Tour. Good win for a fellow Dallas Cowboys fan and native Texan. Robert Allenby had a good round going but petered out at the end while it seemed Palmer just hit it close on every hole. I wsa rooting for Stricker but just because it would have gotten me good points in my fantasy league. Retief Goosen was hot today shooting a 62 to get a fourth place finish. Now the two opening … [Read more...]
