The Case for Rickie Fowler is a guest post by Cassie, author of the blog Bandwagoner’s Guide to Golf. Check out her bio at the bottom of her post. The Case for Rickie Fowler Don’t worry, this isn’t just a fangirl piece fawning over an attractive golfer. Not entirely, at least. Even after his Masters disaster, I still feel the need to make a case for golf fans to respect Rickie Fowler. He’s the reason I found an interest in golf and as far as I can see, he’s part of the reason that the … [Read more...]
The Five Pairings I Hope to See for Team USA
The Ryder Cup is less than two days away and we'll get our first set of pairings on Thursday. There's so much speculation out there on who should be paired together. I think there's at least one players who is tough to pair with - Patrick Reed. I'm going to be watching him closely this weekend to see how he plays. He's a very streaky player and I think we'll see how the pressure gets to him, but I think I have found someone to pair him with. Here are five potential pairings I hope to see … [Read more...]
Front9Back9’s Golf Picks & Predictions: The Masters
If my fiancé wants something done this weekend, well it’s going to be slow going. If someone calls to go play golf, it will probably be the only time I will say no. The only thing I wish more is I was in Augusta watching the tournament live. I’m not so I have to resort to watching it in HD. Oh well, here are my picks for the 75th Masters. Tiger Woods- Who knows what Tiger is going to do at Augusta this week. For some reason I just can’t seem to pick against him, especially this week. … [Read more...]

Well it's that time again, time to make my golf picks and predictions for this week. The WGC-Cadillac Championship is on the schedule which means the big dogs are teeing it up. I need a big week so I can move up the board in fantasy, so I am not holding back anything this week. Tiger Woods- Yes I am picking Tiger Woods. He needs a win and needs a win bad. Front9Back9’s Golf Picks & Predictions: The Honda Classic
My fantasy golf has been horrendous this year. Currently I am sitting in 85th place in Fans of Devil Ball Fantasy Golf. The PGA Tour is moving across the country and the first stop is in Palm Beach Gardens, FL at The Honda Classic. Last Thursday rumors were swirling that Tiger Woods could possibly enter after his terrible WGC Match Play showing, but that turned out false. The tournament is right in his new backyard pretty close to his new estate in Florida. He didn't enter, citing … [Read more...]
Who Is Playing The Best Right Now?
With three of the top four seeds now eliminated in the WGC-Accenture Match Play who is the new favorite to win? A lot of golf is left to play but it seems Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, Y.E. Yang, and Graeme McDowell are on top of their games right now. Fowler took out Phil Mickelson 6 & 5 today and now sets up a match-up with another Ryder Cup teammate Matt Kuchar on Friday. Y.E. Yang beat Stewart Cink 4 & 3 and Graeme McDowell won his match Ross Fisher and both of these winners will … [Read more...]
Tiger, Phil, Jim… Take a hike
Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Jim Furyk, please take a hike. It's 2011 and you are no longer needed. That is the message PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem conveyed in his final teleconference of 2010. Well to be fair, that wasn't exactly what he said. It was more along the lines of: I've never in my tenure seen so much buzz and interest about rookies and young players creating exciting performances. Finchem continues to say the buzz has led the PGA Tour to believe they need to focus … [Read more...]

Hunter Mahan Gets His Second PGA Tour Victory
Some will question what Rickie Fowler was thinking when he laid up on the par 5 15th, but no-one will question the sweet little 6-under 65 shot by Hunter Mahan to get his second PGA Tour victory. The yearly tradition known as the Waste Management Phoenix Open, where the 16th hole is the rowdiest setting in golf, is in the books and Hunter Mahan gets a nice boost to number six in the Fed Ex points and secures himself his second PGA Tour victory before the age of 30. Fowler laid up from just … [Read more...]
