I haven’t given an update lately on my pursuit of domination in the PGA Tour Fantasy golf game. In all honestly, I am really sucking it up. My best week of golf picks was the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. In the overall standings, I am sitting in 1,920th place with a total of 2,594 points. The first place guy has a total of 5,144 points, so you can see I have some ground to make up. This week I am going to have a big jump. I have exchanged texts with my selected players this week … [Read more...]
Front9Back9 Golf Picks & Predicions: The Barclays
First and foremost, it's been quite a while since I last wrote anything. In fact, it's been a little over two months. That's pretty sad for someone who loves the game of golf so much and basically watches every tournament every weekend. I am going to make a better attempt to get back into it more consistently going forward, and I hope you still visit! The first leg of the the PGA Tour Playoffs start tomorrow, and what a better way to kick it off then with the event being held at the famed … [Read more...]
Front9Back9’s Golf Picks & Predictions: The Honda Classic
My fantasy golf has been horrendous this year. Currently I am sitting in 85th place in Fans of Devil Ball Fantasy Golf. The PGA Tour is moving across the country and the first stop is in Palm Beach Gardens, FL at The Honda Classic. Last Thursday rumors were swirling that Tiger Woods could possibly enter after his terrible WGC Match Play showing, but that turned out false. The tournament is right in his new backyard pretty close to his new estate in Florida. He didn't enter, citing … [Read more...]
Who Will Be The Next American to Overtake #1 Again?
When the Official World Golf Rankings are updated on Monday, the top four spots will be held by players from across the pond. Europe that is, and it's really remarkable to look at the top ten. The top five players in order go like this; Martin Kaymer, Lee Westwood, Luke Donald, and Graeme McDowell and Tiger Woods. The win by Luke Donald this weekend at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship and the great play by Martin Kaymer secured Europe will hold the top spots for now, with Paul Casey … [Read more...]
Who Is Playing The Best Right Now?
With three of the top four seeds now eliminated in the WGC-Accenture Match Play who is the new favorite to win? A lot of golf is left to play but it seems Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, Y.E. Yang, and Graeme McDowell are on top of their games right now. Fowler took out Phil Mickelson 6 & 5 today and now sets up a match-up with another Ryder Cup teammate Matt Kuchar on Friday. Y.E. Yang beat Stewart Cink 4 & 3 and Graeme McDowell won his match Ross Fisher and both of these winners will … [Read more...]

Front9Back9 Weekend Tap-ins
The first weekend in December normally is pretty boring in the golf world, but this one turned out to be pretty entertaining. Here is a quick recap of what happen this past weekend. If you don't know already, Tiger Woods blew a four shot lead and lost his own tournament at the Chevron World Challenge. Tiger says it's a positive step and he's fine with blowing his lead. I doubt that. He probably got up this morning and made himself do 1,024 pushups and situps. Either way, he is close and … [Read more...]
Close, but not close enough
In what normally shapes up to be a boring December golf tournament, the final round of the Chevron World Challenge turned out to be a spectacular event. Tiger Woods dominated Sherwood Country Club the first three days of the tournament, but a little pesky Irishman hung around, sort-of the same way he just hung around at Pebble Beach in the U.S. Open, and sank two huge putts to rip the heart from Tiger Woods. To be honest, Tiger blew the tournament. It was the first time he has lost a golf … [Read more...]
Tiger Woods continues his dominace at Sherwood
On Saturday, Tiger Woods continued his great play firing a 68 to keep a four shot lead over Graeme McDowell. Tiger got off to a little bit of a slow start today by bogeying the par-5 second hole, but came back with three birdies in a row on 5,6 and 7 to finish the front9 with a 34. He continued his great play on the back 9 shooting another 34. Paul Casey and Graeme McDowell made a semi-run at Tiger today but faltered in the end, and Tiger was able to hold onto the four shot lead going into … [Read more...]
Well, well, well… Look who’s at the top…
Somebody by the name of Tiger Woods, that's who. Sure it's only the first round, and Tiger has had flashes of good rounds this year, but Woods shot a first round 65 today in his annual Chevron World Challenge, the limited field golf tournament which benefits his foundation. With the 7-under round today, that puts him atop the leader board with Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell one back at 6-under. The next closest group is 3-under with Dustin Johnson and Stewart Cink. It's a good first … [Read more...]
