This is a guest post by Patrick Wynn from Golfshire Club in Karnataka, India helping kick off your bucket list of top places to play golf across the world. Everybody who is serious about golf fantasizes about playing on the best courses the world has to offer. Golfers often have a “bucket list” of places where they want to shoot a round of golf at least once before they die. Phil Mickelson Has No Bucket List Golf Courses. What About You?
As an avid golfer, I undoubtedly have my own personal list of bucket list golf courses in which I strive to play before kicking it. If you are an avid golfer like myself, then you likely have your own bucket list of golf destinations. If you’re Phil Mickelson though, there is no course on the planet that is on his bucket list. Not one. Last week during the Deutsch Bank Championship in Boston, The Boston Globe conducted a survey of around 100 PGA Tour players and asked what golf courses … [Read more...]
San Antonio Golf: Caurso Golf Center
What is so difficult about greeting a customer as they walk through door? Is it really that much of an inconvenience? I hate to write things like this and act like I am all high-and-mighty just because I have this golf blog, but sometimes it just irritates me to no end. But then again, I guess I shouldn't be surprised with any of this since it's common at this place. So today I went to Caruso Golf Center to work on my short game. San Antonio Golf: Mission Del Lago settles court battle with gun range

The rifle range section of A Place to Shoot has been closed since a court injunction forced the business to close it in May. In my … [Read more...]
Texas Golf: Best Courses You Can Play
Being born and raised in the great state of Texas, I am always intrigued when magazines and websites come out with their best rated courses each year. I tend to be more interested in the courses that are closer to San Antonio, but I also like to compare the ones I have played across the rest of the state as well and make a mental note of the remaining courses on the list so I can add them to my “to-play” list. A few weeks ago, Golfweek released its list of the best courses to play by each … [Read more...]
City Politics at its Best: Small Business Owner VS. City of San Antonio
It all started on March 4, 2012, when a local golfer was playing the 12th hole at Mission Del Lago in San Antonio. All of a sudden, he looked down to see blood and realized he had been struck by a stray bullet which lodged in his sternum. He was rushed to the hospital and a .223 rifle slug was removed. Luckily, he survived. It wasn’t more than two weeks later, on March 13 when Mission Del Lago evacuated the golf course after two employees reported hearing a gunshot and then a bullet whizzing … [Read more...]
San Antonio Golf Course Owner Turns to YouTube to Save His Course
My buddy from work sent me this story from a local news station here in San Antonio last night. WOAI had this on their newscast last night and it's a pretty interesting approach to raise money for a golf course. Will it work? Watch the video and tell me what you think. Send money at your own risk. Northcliffe Golf Course … [Read more...]
