Alright folks, it’s time to play some golf. And win some money on Draft Kings.
The Frys.com Open tees it up in Napa on Thursday for the start of the 2015-2016 PGA Tour season. This season I am taking a more calculated approach to my Draft Kings fantasy golf picks. I have been working on some spreadsheets to track week-to-week player performance along with past performances at each golf course on the PGA Tour schedule.
I will be looking to make some money this year with my Draft Kings fantasy golf picks. I’ll play several different lineups each week but I’ll most likely only share one of my lineups. We’ll see how much I can grow throughout the season.
So let’s get to the picks:
Starting Bankroll: $250 (No more then 10% of the bankroll will go towards lineups each week.)
Justin Thomas ($9,200)
Birdies, birdies, birdies. That’s what I need this week at Silverado Golf Resort. Justin Thomas is overdue big time for a win. All last year I continually kept rooting for this guy to get a victory. He will get it this year and what better then a place then Frys.com Open.
Ollie Schniederjans ($6800)
Another guy you will get to know dearly on the PGA Tour in years to come. I like his price this week at only $6,800 which allows me to get several other good second tier players in my lineup. I would feel highly comfortable with picking Rory in my lineup and making up some money with Schniederjans.
Emiliano Grillo ($8,800)
I am hoping Emiliano ends up being one of the low owned players this week. He’s been playing great golf over the last 6 weeks. He had two top-10 finishes in the Web.com Tour Final series and won the Web.com Tour Championship at TPC Sawgrass. You can argue he’s been playing some of the best golf out there, even if it’s on the Web.com Tour.
Daniel Berger ($8,900)
Berger missed the cut here last year, but let’s take a look at his last three tournaments of the 2014-2015 season. Top 15 at Deutsch Bank, runner up at BMW and 12th at TOUR Championship. He played some great golf to end the season. I am expecting big things from Berger this week at Frys.com Open.
Brendan Steele ($8,300)
Steele ended the season with a T-13 at the BMW Championship which was not good enough to get to the next week of the FedEx Cup playoffs. I need players to make the cut to have a chance. Steele made the cut in 7 of 8 PGA Tour cuts to end the season. Just make the cut and I will be happy with Brendan Steele.
Russell Knox ($7,900)
Russell Knox has made the cut in the last three Frys.com Opens, with a T-9 at the tournament in 2012. This was a different golf course at the time but he’s familiar now with the Silverado Resort. Knox had a to15 finish at the Deutsch Bank which was good enough to get him into the BMW Championship, where he finished 45th. Just like Brendan Steele, I just want to see Knox make the cut this week.
