I’ve been working with the TIBA Putt training aid for about three weeks now and I have to admit, I think this may be helping me sink more putts. My putting stroke is really feeling much more solid lately and while I am not ready to claim this is going to be my savior, I do feel this putting aid will eventually help me cut several strokes off my game.
The TIBA putting aid is designed to help you strike the ball square at impact and get the ball rolling on the correct path right off the putter face. The angled ends are designed to allow you to keep your current putting stroke and just focus on getting your putter face square at impact.
This is where the name TIBA was created. If you’re curious to what TIBA stands for, it’s “two inches before and after”, referring to the impact area of the putter. The inventor of TIBA Putt is a competitive golfer who doesn’t want to change your stroke but only wants to improve those two inches before impact and the two inches after impact.
So how am I using TIBA to help my putting stroke?
My TIBA Putt Practice Routine
As I mentioned above, I received the TIBA Putt training aid about three weeks ago. I’ve taken it to the practice green two times before a round and three times to the driving range putting green to work with it.
The two times I’ve used it before a round, I setup a fairly straight, uphill putt of about 3-feet. Each time I would hit about 20 putts from 3-feet before going to the first tee. It really gives me a fresh picture in my mind of straight back and straight forward with my putter head before heading on the course.
The three times I’ve used it at the driving range, I did things a little different and increased my distances. I started at 3-feet and would hit about 30 putts with it. I would then move back to 5-feet and then 8-ft and hit about 30 putts at each distance.
For now, I am keeping a little space between the edge of my putter and the square sides of the TIBA Putt training aid. As I get better, I would like to have no room so my putting stroke at impact is perfect.
I really like this putting aid and will certainly be using it to improve my putting over time. Here are my pros and cons from using the TIBA Putt aid.
- Lightweight, easy to carry in golf bag.
- Simple to use and easy setup.
- Inexpensive compared to other putting training aids.
There’s really just not much downside to this product, as I can’t really identify any cons to this training aid. I would highly recommend the TIBA Putt training aid to anyone looking to sure up their putting stroke and sink more putts.
