I couldn’t resist reading a recent article on Golf.com about Roger Clemens playing in the Golf.com World Amateur Handicap Championship, with his frosted tips and all. He finished ninth in the senior division ages 50-59. This is the third time Clemens has played in this tournament, which is a handicap flighted event with over 3,000 entries. His wife also played in the event, but didn’t play as well as her husband. Clemens is an average golfer, playing to an eight handicap. It seems he actually was in the mix up until his back 9 when he double bogeyed his 15th hole of the day, the par-5 6th at TPC Myrtle Beach. He hit one OB and had to go back to the tee box. I guess Clemens was just one of the boys during his round of golf, being cordial and talking it up with his playing partners.
As a University of Texas fan, passionate baseball fan and lifelong Texan, Roger Clemens was always one of my top five favorite baseball players. But after everything that went down over the last few years, I now put Roger Clemens right alongside the likes of Barry Bonds and Lance Armstrong — they are all scum bag liars. I pretty much despise Roger Clemens now. I don’t care what the jury ruled and I don’t care what he says, I believe he is a liar and cheater. I think it’s ridiculous that he is trying to make a comeback and I think the only reason he is doing it to reset his Hall of Fame clock.
In the end, I hope Clemens just disappears and I never hear from him again. But it seems he may be trying to redo his image and will probably be seeing him show up in the public more, which sucks for everyone.
