This is the final week for the Winter series in Fans of Devil Ball Fantasy Golf. I pretty much was horrible. I am currently in 75th place going into the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week. Next week at the Shell Houston Open the Spring series starts, so it all starts over again, so I plan on winning the Spring.
This week at Bay Hill the big dogs are in the field again. Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and the rest of the gang are all looking to get their games in tip-top shape since The Masters starts in two weeks. I am mailing it in this week and picking the best for my fantasy picks, which means most everyone else will be doing the same and I won’t pick up many spots in the standings. Oh well…
Tiger Woods– The swing change has been taking front and center stage lately, and reports of a new 22 year old blond “Elin” lookalike has made the headlines this past weekend. What does that mean? That means Tiger is ready to play golf again. He has had tremendous success at Bay Hill in the past and knows the course well. I just cannot pick against Tiger Woods. But just in case, I have Dustin Johnson backing him up.
Justin Rose and Ian Poulter– I am going to take two Europeans for my “B” team picks. The best players in the world step up their games for big tournaments, and these two are among the best in the world. Just in case they suck this week, I have Rickie Fowler and Bubba Watson backing them up.
Stewart Cink– Cink played well last week at the Transitions, finishing with a T11. I would not be surprised to see Cink up close to the top of the leaderboard on Sunday. Zach Johnson will be backing up my “C” team.
This is an exciting tournament each year. Everyone respects the hell out of Arnold Palmer which makes for the best players showing up. This year should no different.
