Before the start of the year, I predicted five wins and at least two majors for Tiger Woods in 2011. It’s still early and I am going to stick with my prediction for now. But let’s pose the question.. IF Tiger Woods goes winless in 2011, how fast will Sean Foley be kicked out of the Tigers’ “circle of trust”? What if I take it one notch further, and Tiger Woods gets through the four majors at the end of August and has no wins. Will Sean Foley be kicked out before the year is even over?
Tiger Woods is running out of time. He is 35 years old. He sits on 14 major championships, four short of Jack Nicklaus’ all time major record. His life has spiraled out of control over the last year and it seems anything Tiger Woods does these days is not good enough (Take the spitting incident in Dubai that is making the most headlines right now.) How much patience will Tiger have if these new swing mechanics don’t start working? It may just be me, but at Torrey Pines and this last weekend in Dubai, Tiger seemed to be very impatient and irritated on the course. Over the course of watching Tiger since he turned professional, we all know he can be a real jerk and guarded with everything he did. But he seems more irritated than ever, but I have never seen Tiger quite so agitated.
I personally don’t think Sean Foley has a very long leash to dangle from with Tiger Woods. His swing changes with Butch Harmon and Hank Haney took some time, but Tiger was always patient and showed the patience when on the course. In the press conferences we may hear Tiger tell us he is getting close and it’s going to take time. But his body language on the course is not showing that patience he talks about in the media tent. He is getting more pissed than ever and I think that shows he is really not seeing the results as quickly as he planned.
The pressure building on Tiger’s back right now may even be too much for him to handle. Like I said earlier, it’s still way early in the year. I think things better start to change and the results start to appear, or Sean Foley could be on his way out the door.

That’s a good question. I think Tiger will win a couple of events this year. When these guys say they are “close”, they know what they are talking about. Tiger has looked good early in events but struggled again on Sunday. Once he starts competing on Sundays again, he will be dangerous.
If he leaves Foley, who would his next coach be?
