The Frys.com Open starts Thursday in San Martin, CA and some big names are teeing it up. Many of the players this time of year are fighting to get inside the magical 125th ranking on the PGA Tour money list to have playing privileges next year on tour. So who will win? Well I thought you’d never ask..
Rickie Fowler– Playing in his first tournament since the Ryder Cup, Rickie should be well rested and ready to go. He has already earned over $2 million this year so does not have to worry about playing for his card. Fowler is still looking for his first win of his PGA Tour career and what a better time then playing in his home state of California.
Justin Leonard– Justin went low twice last week with an opening round and 3rd round 66. It wasn’t low enough and ended in a tie for 45. I think he will put together a good week and have a chance to win at the end of the week.
Tim Clark– Clark seems to be a favorite above many in the tournament. After winning the Tour Championship earlier in the year and a career best $3.3 million he has nothing to play for other than reps. He has an exemption through 2015 thanks to the Tour Championship victory. Clark hits fairways and putts well so he should be near the top at the end of the week.
John Daly– I don’t think Daly has a chance this week. He seems to have a great first round here and there and fall apart the remainder of the week. I would love to see John win and I am a big fan. He is my dark horse for the week and if he wins he can build on it to continue to improve.
What do you think? What are picks? Tell me below..
