- Congratulations to Paula Creamer for winning the U.S. Women’s Open this past weekend at the infamous Oakmont Country Club. It was great to see her mom and dad there to congratulate her at the end. The 23-year old Pink Panther shot a cool 3-under for the week, two shots ahead of the runner up.
- After a Paul Goydos 59 and Steve Stricker 60 in the first round at the John Deere Classic, the two ended up playing together in the final round and Steve Stricker pulled out the victory with a staggering 26-under par tournament score. But Goydos was able to catch the charter to St. Andrews because he got an exemption in the Open Championship with his 2nd place finish.
Chunks
- Not a good way to prepare for the Open Championship. Phil Mickelson missed the cut at the Scottish Open this past week. Guess he had extra time to get to St. Andrews and hang out. Maybe he was able to lay some bets down on Tiger Woods staying #1 in the world. It seems the last couple months Phil has had the best look at over taking #1 in the world. But he just can’t seem to close the deal.
Chip-In’s and Chunks is short today. I am in the process of making my picks for the Open Championship… So stay tuned.
