The rumors are all over the internet. Tiger Woods has completed his sex rehab in Mississippi and his wife Elin flew there last Friday in the middle of the night to pick him up. The reports also state he has been reunited with his kids, which he hasn’t seen in over a month, and he and his wife are planning to get away for a bit to be by themselves to work on their marriage some more. Rumors have been rampant all week as well that his return was to be in Arizona in two weeks at the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship. On Sunday, TMZ reported Tiger Woods is planning on playing in the Tavistock Cup, which is a Ryder Cup style competition between two prominent golf communities in the Orlando area who are home to many PGA Tour players.
While all of this is great news, and no one wants to see Tiger back more than I do, I have a prediction to what will happen over the next three months. I have said all along I believe he will be back for either Doral or Bay Hill. Doral is six weeks out, which is March 11-14. Bay Hill is two weeks later March 25-28 and The Masters is then two weeks after Bay Hill.
I think Tiger will take a couple more weeks with his family and we will continue to hear rumors over the next couple weeks. He needs to sit down and have an interview. He doesn’t need to hold his first press conference at his first tournament. So I think around the first week of March, he will sit down for a one-on-one interview with a big time sports broadcaster. Someone who has treated Tiger fairly over the years and someone who hasn’t bashed him. I think this will be a Jim Gray or Jim Nantz type interview. I don’t think it will be on 60 minutes or something like that. After the interview we will see Tiger at Doral for his first tournament back. Assuming he will play Bay Hill as well that will give him two tournaments under his belt before The Masters. After that, this will all be behind him and he will maintain the same schedule he always does each year. With a little less overseas travel, for aparent reasons…
These are just personal predictions and I could be completely wrong. I don’t know. Nobody knows except Tiger. He really doesn’t owe a explanation to anyone but his family and sponsors.
