The famed Four Seasons Resort and Club outside Dallas is facing foreclosue. Yes the same site that hosts the ever popular HP Byron Nelson Championship each year is headed to auction February 2nd if the bank and the owners, BentleyForbes, cannot work out a deal to restructure the debt.
What I cannot confirm or seem to find is if BentleyForbes actually owns the golf course since it is a TPC course. The article I read on Yahoo Sports states the entire 400 acre luxury resort is in foreclosure. So the course may be apart of the foreclosure.
Either way, the daily operations of the resort are not expected to be interrupted and I am sure this will not effect the tournament in May. What’s funny is on the homepage for the Four Seasons Resort, it says $60 million in upgrades were completed in July 2009. So I wander how they paid that? But if anyone out there wants to chip in some cash, I can probably scrounge up $1000 or a little more, we can go to the county courthouse on Feb 2nd and we can bid on the resort….
I am sure something will get worked out. If not, what a great opportunity for someone else.
