Golf Digest announced on Wednesday that the instructional articles Tiger Woods writes for the magazine will be suspended while Tiger is on his indefinite break from golf. Here it exactly what Golf Digest had to say:
“Golf Digest has had a long-standing relationship with Tiger Woods to provide instruction articles for the magazine, and we do not have any plans to change that. We respect Tiger’s decision to take a break from professional golf and focus on his family; Tiger’s bylined instruction articles will not be published in Golf Digest during his time away from the game.”
This is sort of interesting to me. I would like to know if this was a Golf Digest decision or a Tiger Woods request to the suspend the articles for now. If this was a Golf Digest decision than I would have to think they are trying to distance themselves a little from him. But if this was a Tiger Woods request, I would have to think it is just another ploy to get Tiger out of the public eye for as long as he will be out. It’s also interesting that he was just on the cover of the latest Golf Digest along with President Obama.
So for now, we will have to do without the little pullout-pocket-tips-booklet that Golf Digest puts in every magazine. At least the ones from Tiger.
