According to People Magazine, Elin Nordegren plans to divorce Tiger Woods early in 2010. Tiger Woods has not been seen in the three weeks since infamous crash and speculation is he is on his private yacht. Elin on the other hand has been out and about around the Orlando area and pictures show she is no longer wearing her wedding ring. According to a report on Sports by Brooks two days ago, Elin plans on filing for divorce in California where the two have a house and divorce laws are different. Elin is currently shopping around for a divorce attorney and the divorce is “100 percent on” according to this report.
I believe Tiger Woods has ONE major decision to make right now. He needs to decide if he wants to be married. End of story. If he wants to be married and does not want to lose his kids and Elin, he needs to beg and plead for her to stay. He needs to look Elin in the eye and tell her he is sincerely sorry and he will do anything and everything it take to heal the marriage. If that involves taking one year or three years or five years off from golf, then he has to do it. If he does not want to be married he needs to sign the divorce papers and pay Elin whatever she wants. His image is beaten and battered right now and fighting a messy divorce in the public eye will make this worse. He cannot afford to fight it so he just needs to get it over with as quickly as possible and move on. The sooner he puts this behind him and gets back on the course and winning the quicker he can re-build his reputation.
The way I look at it is this. If the divorce goes through, I personally believe, Elin is going will walk away with a minimum of $250 million. If Tiger decided he wants to work on the marriage and tells Elin he will take five years off, for instance, he would probably lose close to $100 million or more in winnings and endorsement money anyways. If Tiger is truly willing to {insert quote from website} like he said on his website, then he should be cruising right now in that $20 million yacht all by himself and doing some true soul searching. He should be alone, he better not have any women on there, and he should only be having contact with his kids, Elin and maybe his agent daily.
It’s make or break right now for Tiger Woods. Wife, kids and family… Or golf and 18 majors? Tiger Woods is tough enough mentally to have both. But right now, he needs to focus on one or the other.
