This is amazing to me. The world is still infatuated with the Tiger Woods saga. Yesterday the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) released a statement saying Woods DID meet with them four days after the accident and only had a fat lip. No other facial injuries were present and domestic violence was ruled out. This just shows once again that even after Tiger Woods personal life was blown up because of this crash, we still do not know anything about this guy. Somehow Tiger Woods was able to … [Read more...]

No More Tiger Woods Golf Tips…For Now at Least
Golf Digest announced on Wednesday that the instructional articles Tiger Woods writes for the magazine will be suspended while Tiger is on his indefinite break from golf. Here it exactly what Golf Digest had to say: “Golf Digest has had a long-standing relationship with Tiger Woods to provide instruction articles for the magazine, and we do not have any plans to change that. We respect Tiger's decision to take a break from professional golf and focus on his family; Tiger's bylined … [Read more...]
Swede’s Stick Together
Boy do Swede’s stick together in difficult times.. LPGA player, Helen Alfredsson, seems to have the back of Elin Nordegren and is the latest player to pile on Tiger Woods. According to the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, Alfredsson heard about Tiger’s infidelities last July during the British Open played at Turnberry. Alfredsson is quoted as saying “In the quietest water swims the ugliest fish” referring to Tiger Woods. In the same article she questions why Tiger even got married and asked “is … [Read more...]
Final Golf World Rankings for 2009
The final World Golf Rankings for 2009 were released today and there was really no surprise in the top 30. There were no changes compared to last week's rankings until you get to #38 and 39 where Graeme McDowell and Francesco Molinari swapped places. The United States has five of the top ten players in the world with Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Steve Stricker ranking #1-3 respectively. Jim Furyk ends the year at #6 and Kenny Perry rounds out the top ten ranked #10. Just looking at … [Read more...]

What's more "American Dream" than trying to make a buck at the expense of the biggest sports story of the year. Well in the case, whats more Irish than making a buck on the biggest sports story of the year. Irish bookmaker, Paddy Power, has posted odds on the potential settlement of a Tiger Woods divorce. Right now the leader in the clubhouse, a final payout of $100 million or less will get you a 6-to-4 payout. The longshot, any settlement over $500 million, will get a nice payout of … [Read more...]
Donald Trump Golf Apprentice Style?
Coming this April, The Golf Channel and Donald Trump will debut another reality series called Donald J. Trump's Fabulous World of Golf. The series will give actors, politicians, pro athletes, and other celebrities a chance to tee-it-up against each other with the winner getting a donation to their favorite charity. The series is also slated to include behind the scenes looks at The Donald's worldwide golf portfolio. I don't know if that means these celebrities will play these courses during … [Read more...]

Big Break Disney Golf
I really got hooked a six years ago when Big Break debuted in 2003. This season was just as exciting as the others and Mike Perez won in extra holes to take home the title of Big Break Champion. Mike is the brother of PGA Tour member Pat Perez and with the win they may get a chance to play along side of each other in the 2010 Children's Miracle Network Classic. Mike will get a sponsors exemption in to the tournament as well as some other great prizes. Along with the exemption, he will get … [Read more...]
Golf Tweeters
I am currently working on a project I hope will attract new readers and keep them coming back. I have become addicted to Twitter for my personal account, @ryanryoung, but I have started an account for this blog, @front9back9. I am working on collecting all PGA, LPGA, Senior PGA and Nationwide players so I can follow them all. I am also going to to follow golf writers and sports casters as well. Adam Scott Wins
It's good to see Adam Scott back in the winning circle again. In 2009, Adam played 19 PGA Tour events and only made the cut in nine of those events. Not very good for the #3 ranked player in the world at the beginning of the year. His ranking dropped to 74 this year but his four top 10 finishes in the last four tournaments, including the win in the Australian Masters, has pushed his world ranking up to #34. Let's hope he can continue this good play heading into 2010. … [Read more...]
It Aint Jack’s Tour Anymore
I was talking to a buddy of mine today and we found ourselves talking again about what else but Tiger Woods and the breaking news today involving his mother-in-law and the alleged mistresses that keep coming out of the wood works. He made a good point that I think is worth mentioning. This thing has now turned into a absolute media circus with no end in sight. This debacle has just shown how much the game has changed since the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Lee Trevino played. … [Read more...]
You Don’t Know Me the Movie
John Daly is going to write another book. Then there may be a movie to follow. I can tell you one thing, I will be first in line when that movie is released. I love John Daly. And I think I am not alone in saying the reason I love John Daly is he is an everyday-down-to-earth normal guy, who happend to make a splash winning the PGA Championship and The Open Championship. The fact that John Daly has always made himself accessible to anyone and everyone is one of the many reasons people love … [Read more...]
Men Want to Be Him and Women Want to….. Well You know
With reports of a possible sixth woman today claiming an affair with Tiger Woods, and some reports have it as high as 12 by the end of the week, this thing started at 30,000 feet in the air and now has only spiraled out of control to 20,000 feet. This story is not coming to an end anytime soon. Period. For the first time in Tiger Woods career he has entered the gossip circuit and he isn't getting out. The only thing Tiger can do now is hope he has told the truth to his wife in those … [Read more...]
So What Now??
Tiger Woods released a statement today apologizing for his "transgressions" and saying "I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family." Tiger Woods does not owe the public any type of explanation. I stated below there will probably be women coming out of the word works claiming they had affairs with him. Today, US Weekly … [Read more...]
Tiger Woods Ticketed for Careless Driving
In response to the post below, it looks like the Florida Highway Patrol has completed their investigation and has charged Tiger Woods with “careless driving.” Golf.com is reporting that the investigation is closed and there is insufficient evidence to pursue domestic violence or any other charges. So… Let’s get this straight. Tiger Woods is reportedly the first athlete to hit $1 Billion in earnings. He probably has $164 sitting in the cup holder of that famous Escalade. He gets four … [Read more...]
Does Tiger Woods Owe the Public an Explanation?
With the first official post of Front9Back9.com, what’s better than starting with the most popular news story circulating right now, and a question I have seen discussed by numerous sports writers across the United States. Does Tiger Woods owe the public an explanation for what happened last Friday? I have seen many different versions of this answer and frankly my opinion is..NO. He DOES NOT owe me, or anyone else an explanation. Heck, by Florida law, he doesn’t even owe the police an … [Read more...]
